Sight Machine Offers Roadmap to Digital Transformation at Hannover Messe 2016
SAN FRANCISCO, April 22, 2016–
Sight Machine Inc., the leading provider of manufacturing analytics solutions, is expanding its European presence through exhibiting and presenting at Hannover Messe, the world’s largest trade fair. Sight Machine will showcase its platform in the USA Digital Factory Pavilion, in Hall 6 at Stand K01-08, from April 25 – 29 at the fair in Hannover, Germany.
The San Francisco-based company recently announced it has raised $13.5 million in new venture capital, which will help the company expand its growing set of European manufacturing clients. New investors include the venture arm of General Electric Co., which is pursuing a broad group of industrial internet initiatives to create “Brilliant Factories.”
At Hannover Messe, Sight Machine will present “A Roadmap to Digital Transformation,” offering strategies and best practices manufacturers can use to bridge the gap between raw manufacturing data and useful insights. The presentation will be held on 24 April at 10:30 a.m. in Hall 8, Stand D19.
Sight Machine offers the only end-to-end big data platform built specifically for manufacturing. The company’s manufacturing analytics platform transforms data from process, parts, and people into insights and action, helping manufacturers address critical challenges in quality, reliability and operations. Sight Machine is rapidly becoming an essential partner to companies pursuing Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Sight Machine provides real-time production, quality and supply chain monitoring; retrospective analysis of product variation and failures; predictive analytics to support process improvement; and benchmarking on the contractor, factory, line and tool levels.
While a growing number of systems can collect, record or visualize data, only Sight Machine provides the necessary analytics engine underneath. At the heart of its platform are Sight Machine’s proprietary manufacturing models, which transform disparate data streams into a structure that enable meaningful analysis. These models are the foundation for performing analysis for the most common types of discrete, batch and process manufacturing.
Sight Machine is working with some of the world’s largest manufacturers in the transportation sector, life sciences and consumer goods to turn data from the factory floor into insight and action. Enterprise customers include automotive OEM and Tier One suppliers, one of the world’s best-known consumer brands, Europe-based global leaders in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and industrial materials. Early results of Sight Machine’s work include:
- For one of Detroit’s three automakers, Sight Machine detected and eliminated five times the quality defects the client suspected it was suffering.
- As part of a global automation rollout for an enterprise manufacturer, Sight Machine helped reduce asset downtime by more than 50 percent and helped improve asset performance by 25 percent over a one-month period.
- Sight Machine is engaging with a Europe-based global pharmaceutical company to help understand and prevent manufacturing quality problems.
“Sight Machine is in the sweet spot, with a very robust solution to the central problem that manufacturers are experiencing today: how to make sense of all their data,” said Lou Rassey, founder and CEO of Two Roads Group in Chicago, one of Sight Machine’s new investors. “They have hardened their technology over the last few years working with some very demanding customers. Now they are scaling up with proven technology and a proven business model.” Rassey is a former leader of McKinsey & Co.’s global manufacturing practice, and helped set the strategy for the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute, the U.S. national hub for digital industry innovation in Chicago.
